PRIVATE RESIDENCES

Islamorada Residence
1996

Fronting on the Atlantic Ocean with a private beach and deep-water harbor, a tropical paradise is nestled in a magnificently landscaped setting. Together with Raymond Jungles a unique Keys estate was created. The site structures were designed as pods to "feel" as though they were placed within an oceanfront "hammock." Although, all of the hammock landscaping on the site was brought in. Three large complementary "chickee" structures are used for outside living and carports. The buildings are painted with tropical colors, reflecting the sea and the landscaping so that the structures "merge" with the site. Natural finishes, hardwood docks, stabilized sand driveways and paths, coral steps and walkways are used for hard surfaces. Citrus and banana trees and herb gardens share the site with the owner's carefully nurtured orchids populating the site.
Please excuse the character of the following images for they are from scanned paper prints.

Islamorada Residence - 2

Fronting on the Atlantic Ocean with a shallow-water harbor, nestled in a Raymond Jungles' magnificently landscaped setting, is a classic unique Keys estate. The structures were designed to "feel" as though they arose from their existing keystone bases. This flag shaped site was once the caretaker’s home of a commercial fishery concealed within a "high hammock area", transformed with the majority of the landscaping being brought in. The buildings are designed to meet the high velocity wind codes and to test them, six (6) months after occupancy, they withstood Hurricane Irma's Category 4, winds and eleven foot storm surge.
Tropical colors, reflecting the sea and the landscaping "merge" with the site. Natural finishes, hardwood docks, stabilized sand driveways and paths, quarried keystone steps and walkways are used for the hard surfaces. Finally, the pool is built to “feel as if it were carved out of the natural keystone, flowing from the buildings.
